A neat stack of thick matte business cards with a single card propped against it

A business card is still the piece most people keep, and it is judged in the hand before it is read. Thick 16pt stock with a matte or soft-touch finish is the sweet spot for most businesses; specialty stocks like 32pt suede, painted edges and foil make a card that gets remarked on.

We print cards on the same presses as our mail work, which is why a run of cards is quoted low and ships the next day.

Stock guide

14pt is thin and economical. 16pt is the standard that feels solid. 18pt and 32pt are noticeably thick and premium. Suede is a velvet-touch laminate over thick stock. Painted-edge cards carry a color on the edges. Plastic cards are for membership and loyalty programs. Magnet cards live on a refrigerator, which is where a plumber or a pizza place wants to be.

Finishes that get noticed

Spot UV puts a gloss highlight on a matte card. Foil adds metallic type or a logo. Raised ink adds texture you can feel. Soft-touch lamination makes a card feel like it costs more than it did. All of them add a few days and a few dollars per hundred.
